And it only took, what, over 3 months to make? Cool!

Well, admittedly, I would’ve liked to have completed the first chapter of Final Light – Act 1: The Messenger (read it if you haven’t already) in a quicker timespan, but with the amount of effort needed for someone to produce a 30 page, fully coloured, fully shaded webcomic entirely on their own, I suppose I should’ve seen this coming. Oh well. I’d rather get these comics polished to their best than to just shart them all out.

That’s why, from here on out, I will be lowering my standards (at least for Final Light), so then I can get my comics out quicker, and I lose my mind slower. Meaning less complicated shading (compare Final Light’s page 6 to page 18), thicker lines and slightly less odd looking backgrounds.

You may throw your hands up and call me lazy – and you’re right – but I have other reasons for this too, you know!

1 – I don’t want to have to spend my entire life working on the same couple series over and over again – of course, spending years on these things will be inevitable, but anything over the 12 year mark is a thumbs down from me.

2 – I have other comics I want to work on alongside the ones I’m working on! I mean, yeah, it probably isn’t very convenient or healthy mentally-wise, but flip it. You only live once. With Trump and tariffs and robots and everything happening all around us, I want to leave behind at least a few okay-ish comic series, so that Lord Chat Gpt II on his throne of human skeletons can someday browse through CuttleToons, skim through Final Light, and think to itself: ‘yeah that was shit but I had fun with it at least.’

That is my philosophy when it comes to making art – I am not perfect, and my stories are as far from it as Pingu is from Rudolph. Not everyone will enjoy them and I may not leave much of an impact with them, and if I’m not careful I could die on the streets with the only traces of my existence being dozens of video essays on some embarrassing comment I made as a 14 year old on Deviantart on what remains of Youtube. But who the hell cares? So long as I’m having fun and creating things that make me happy, that’s all that matters to me.

(And, to those future video essayists reading this, you may quote that paragraph excessively before going in depth on my spiral into an acid taking misandrist who doxes kids on Roblox for fun.)

Sorry to go a bit deep there, as the kids say, but since my late discovery of the lack of descriptions for individual comic pages, I’m throwing all commentary into these blogs, or Cuttlogs as I am now calling them. Also wanted to mention that next Friday I will be undergoing surgery on a few of my toes, resulting in me having to have wires sticking out of them for 6 weeks afterwards. So I’ll have no excuses not to work on the comics then. Maybe. I don’t know.

Hope you enjoy Final Light, and I’ll see you in however many months it takes for me to get out the next comic. Byyyyyyye.
